This week consists of Booty Bounce! Soul Open Mics! Freestyle Battles and illegal Dancing!
The Cotton Room and The Art of Cool Project are teaming up to plan a NYE Party of EPIC proportions. This is not your typical NYE party. We are showcasing the BEST musicians in the TRIANGLE. This event is for live music enthusiasts and an upscale, mature crowd looking for a unique live music experience.
Cabanas and VIP soft seating options are also available.
Open bar wristband options are available.
NOTE: Open Bar wristbands can be used for up to 5 drinks. One drink per person will be served at a time. Wristbands will be hole-punched by bartenders each time you come to the bar. Once a wristband receives 5 punches, the person can still drink but will have to pay there after.
This July, dtownMARKET presents its very 1st annual fashion show, “reFASHIONED.” The runway exhibition, will showcase 10 local fashion artists from the Triangle region.
dtownMARKET has curated an eclectic showcase of style and design in celebration of Carolina style. reFASHIONED is an opportunity for local designers to exhibit their talents in a growing and trendy, yet gritty, area of NC. dtownMARKET organizer, Kala Wolfe, is excited to expand efforts to increase brand exposure for local emerging fashion talent, artists, and businesses.
Doors will open at 6:30 PM with the show beginning at 7:30pm. DJ Nerve, alongside the Master of Ceremonies – The Real Laww, will guide you through the evening. An after party with a performance by host @THE REAL LAWW and dj’ed by DJ Queen Plz and DJ Birdgherl will begin at 9pm. Tickets will be available beginning June 20th for purchase via http://motorcomusic.com/events. ($7 in advance and $10 at the door). Get there early to reserve your seat! The event also features a raffle benefiting Dress for Success Triangle NC and a market where you can buy items you’ve seen on the runway and more!

Durham NC, July 28, 2012 The 5 original elements of Hip-hop culture will crash land at the Casbah in Durham ,NC. The burgeoning hip-hop team of Toon & The Real Laww have been tapped to curate a one day, hip-hop festival of sorts, that will “bring back a positive light” to the durham rap music scene. This day will include live breakdancers, graffiti artists, beat-box with live DJing exibitions, and so much more! The night will be capped off with live performances from 5 of Durham’s most promising hip-hop acts!
This event will focus on the “5 pillars” on which hip-hop culture stands upon. Those elements, or “pillars” are, the Emcee, the Break Dancer, the DJ, Beatboxing, and last but not least, the graffiti artists. The elements will be presented throughout the night with live exhibitions mixed with various audience participation opportunities.
If that doesn’t give enough incentive to attend already, there will be musical sets from Durham hip-hop mainstays Joshua Gunn and The Beast lead by MC Pierce Freelon. Also performing will be, new Durham rap favorites, Toon and The Real Laww. Raleigh to Durham hip-hop transplant, Lazurus will play a joined set with rising female emcee Sarah Kaboom. Entertaining newcomer, Defacto Thezpian will start off what will be an eventful night of Hip-hop performances and 5 pillars of fun.
