Born and raised in the Carolinas, Young Dirt is putting his mark on the hip-hop scene. Like most rappers, real life situations inspired Young Dirt to put his pen to paper and give us the story board of his life. It is a life which reflects a lower class upbringing with hard working family values, experiencing the death of loved ones and the joy of fatherhood. Unlike most rappers, Young Dirt writes, produces and engineers all of his music and he served a brief stint in the military which shaped his new perspective on life – the Young Dirt“point of view”. That “pov” has deemed him the reigning rap “ambassador” of the Carolina’s and a 3-time champion of the Carolina Showcase Showdown in Greensboro. Starting out with a simple computer mic and cool edit pro, Young Dirt sought refuge in the studio. That dedication led to his collaboration with J-Hood (formerly of D. Block) and International music producer, PressPlayMusiq of Berlin, Germany. Constantly on the road from the Carolinas to ATL and even as far Nebraska, Young Dirt is determined to let his music touch people.Touched by a legacy of musical influences- The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Jay Z and Rakim, Young Dirt hopes to create a legacy of his own, starting with his home base in the Carolinas. The streets can’t get enough of the Young Dirt mixtape movement, he’s released “Jackin 4 Beatz Vol. 1” and “Call Me A.K.A.The Audio Documentary”. Young Dirt has a serious belief system when it comes to music,The Young Dirt philosophy says the “path of righteousness is in the hood” and that’s why this latest mixtape, “Born Alone Die Alone” is dictated by hard-core beats and real life lyrics that fans relate to. Currently signed to You World Global Media, CEO/Founder, Carlos Diaz discovered Young Dirt had a “passion, work ethic and lyrical talent” that couldn’t be compared to most artists in today’s music industry. Next up, “WAVE”, a track that breeds attitude, clever lyrics all while repping the Carolinas! The Young Dirt story is just getting started!
It’s a word uniquely uttered by Hip Hop artist Defacto Thezpian that seems ideal when tasked with finding an adjective to describe the rising star from Durham, North Carolina. Long-time stage actor (hence the name), Defacto Thezpian’s lyrical prowess continues to have him mentioned as an elite in the Triangle area. It should come as no surprise that Defacto has already shared the stage with notable artists J. Gunn, Pac Div, Young Dirt, as well as Toon and The Real Laww.
Defacto Thezpian’s blend of music is eclectic and unique; a great compromise between the organic warmth of old school hip-hop and the focus and versatility of modern productions. It’s all about tight analog-like beats, lush melody and Defacto’s schnozy lyrical flow.
Listen to his music and you’ll hear the true tales of a young male with tales that are similar to his peers, but shared in a manner that forces listeners to hit the playback button again and again.
Only a few years ago Phive was just a cover band with a dream. Making a living playing frat parties up and down the east coast was their bread and butter. Then their first EP Freshman Gear, Garnered 4 features on the hit cable show Jersey Shore. From there momentum continued to grow. Signing with a booking agent, being chosen for the Xbox KSU college tour, and being featured on several other shows like Washington Heights, Kim and Kloe take Miami, and The Bad Girls Club were all things that have continued to grow Phive into a polished all around act. Now with the addition of Afika Nx, Phive is on another level. If the first singles are any indication, Phive is on the road to international stardom. J Timber continues to blend his Colombian roots into his love for rock and soul which adds depth. The Guitar riffs of Dante have become a huge part of the Phive sound. Mike J and DJ 818 add the rhythm section that deserves marquee recognition on it own.
